Resilience and Purpose: Discovering strength and connection in life’s cracks
After struggling with her vision from a very young age, Anne was finally diagnosed with Cone-Rod Dystrophy and lost her vision…but she did not lose her will to live a meaningful and impactful life.
She shares her inspiring journey of overcoming adversity through her harrowing experiences not only with vision loss but also with chronic pain, which she still has to this day due to a chronic condition known as New Daily Persistent Headache (NDPH).
It left Anne unable to work and confined her to darkness.
She openly talks about battling debilitating pain and depression and how she pulled herself out, small step by small step.
Now, she is a visually impaired digital storyteller and advocate who, in her own words, “brings a unique perspective to every stage” on which she speaks.
Anne discusses her childhood struggles, the challenges of navigating life as a visually impaired person, and the importance of community and acceptance in finding purpose.
She emphasizes the need for kindness and understanding towards those with disabilities and highlights the power of storytelling in empowering others.
Anne’s journey is a testament to resilience and the ability to rewrite one’s story, encouraging listeners to embrace their own challenges with hope and strength.
